October Spell Trail
When? Now until 31st October
Where? The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Hanley
A self-guided spooky trail for you and the kids, this miniature Halloween adventure will have you searching for 12 spine-chilling ingredients around the museum to help Ozzy the Owl finish his festive spell. Head to the reception, pay £1, and you'll get a map and a free pencil - enjoy.
Spooky Clay Cauldron
When? 30th October 2018 to 1st November 2018. Open from 10.30am to 3pm
Where? The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Hanley
Another great event from the folks at Hanley Museum, this frighteningly fun workshop will unleash your child’s creative side as they make a clay cauldron from scratch before filling it with spooky ingredients. The atmosphere here is brilliant and it’s only £1.50 to take part - a real Halloween winner if ever we saw one.
Halloween at Churnet Valley Railway
When? 31st October 2018
Where? Kingsley and Froghall Station
Staffordshire's spooky hidden valley is the ideal destination for a spot of spooky family fun. Hop aboard an authentic steam locomotive (from the ominous olden days) and embark this 11-mile heritage trail, soaking up a host of spine-chilling sounds along the way.
The Hocus Pocus Adventure Challenge

A magical Halloween event for three to eight-year-olds (and their parents), Magic Merlin’s Wizarding School at Trentham Gardens teaches magical spells, songs, potions and 'magic wandery' surrounded by the majesty of the estate’s iconic grounds - heaps of spooky fun for all the family.
