ARLA member firms are required to work within a robust Code of Practice, which covers the key stages in letting and managing a property. There are comprehensive membership Byelaws which include compliance with such issues as handling and accounting for Clients' money; the mandatory ARLA Client Money Protection Bonding Scheme; Professional Indemnity Insurance; Dealing with Complaints and Disciplinary Procedures. ARLA member firms are required to employ a minimum of at least one member of staff, in any office, who holds a suitable industry qualification, recognised by the Association. ARLA keeps it members up to date with changes in legislation and provides wide-ranging training and guidance to help members understand and interpret all aspects of letting and managing a property.

From 6th April 2007 all tenancy deposits taken by agents in connection with an Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST) must be protected by law under the Tenancy Deposit Protection (TDP) Scheme. Rockett Home Rentals is a member of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme. The Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) is an Insurance-based scheme run by an organisation called The Dispute Service and was established back in 2003 to provide independent dispute resolution and complaints handling for the lettings industry. It has been running a voluntary tenancy deposit scheme for use by regulated agents since that time and is backed by the three professional bodies for letting agents in the residential property sector, ARLA, NAEA and RICS.

The Association of Professional Inventory Providers (APIP) Rockett Home Rentals has two accredited inventory clerks. They both have attained Association of Professional Inventory Providers (APIP) accreditation. Why APIP? The Association of Professional Inventory Providers (APIP) aims to provide a service for either in-house or independent inventory providers - by offering a recognised standard of inventory provision, provision of advice and guidance and opportunities for professional development. APIP offers inventory providers the opportunity to have their professionalism recognised by use of post-nominals (e.g. A N Other MAPIP) and the APIP logo; and to promote their service via the APIP website. APIP also provides landlords, property management agents and tenants with the names of and access to accredited inventory providers, with the reassurance that an APIP member meets professional standards, is fully insured and follows the APIP Code of Practice.
